Melamine resin
Melamine resin - also known under the name Basotect®, Willtec® or ClimaTect® - is a flexible, open cell foam, a thermoset polymer.
The outstanding properties of melamine are its high sound-absorption capacity, flame-retardant characteristics, high-temperature resistance, low weight and thermal insulation. Melamine foam is used in a variety of applications and industries (i.e. construction & industry, automotive, transportation and consumer i.e. cleaning) due to its excellent properties. Melamine resin is used to acoustically and thermally insulate buildings, cars and trains.
Its characteristic feature is its three-dimensional network structure consisting of slender and thus easily shaped webs. The thermoset foam is available in several grades for various applications and can be installed quickly and simply since it is lightweight and free of mineral fibers.
