Dr. rer. nat. Walter F. Cammerer, born on 26 March 1920 in Munich, completed his school education in 1938 with the Abitur at the secondary school in Landshut. After military service, wartime deployment and captivity, he began studying technical physics at the Technical University of Munich in 1946. In 1950, he passed the main diploma examination and then worked as a scientific assistant at the Forschungsheim f\u00fcr W\u00e4rmeschutz e. V. until 1958. In 1959, he took over the scientific management of this institute and in 1962 received his doctorate (Dr. rer. nat.).<\/p>\n
Cammerer is a member of several national and international committees dealing with heat and cold insulation in the building industry.<\/p>\n
The achievements of the award-winner consist in the fact that, since the development of foam plastics, he has been particularly involved in research into the thermal, hygric and mechanical properties in the temperature range from – 180 \u00b0C to + 100 \u00b0C and, in the standardisation committees and through continuous quality monitoring, has had a decisive influence on quality improvement with regard to use as thermal insulation materials in the context of energy saving.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
