10th International Specialist Conference on Polyurethanes in Strasbourg

Professor Dr. Fyodor A. Shutov, born 1941 in Leningrad (USSR), studied polymer physics at the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute. After graduation in 1964 he worked as a scientist in the field of physical chemistry of polymers and biopolymers at the Physical-Technical Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences in Leningrad. He studied physics and technology of foamed polymers in Moscow and received his doctorate from the Institute of Chemical Physics of the USSR Academy of Sciences in Moscow. Today he works as an associate professor and research director of the Physics Department of the Institute of Civil Engineering in Leningrad. Shutov is a specialist in the technology and properties of foamed polymers based on reactive oligomers and their applications in building structures, electronics and medicine. 20 patents bear his name. He has also written more than 100 scientific papers published in the USSR and other countries. He is also co-author of 3 books in his field of knowledge. He is also a member of several international scientific associations.

The achievement of the awarded person is that he summarized the latest experiences by publishing about theory, practice, production and application of foam plastics.
