FSK training content REACH – restriction process applying to diisocyanates

Certification/Training

The FSK has been involved in the creation and implementation of the training content and the corresponding training platform since the very beginning of the REACH process for diisocyanates. The restriction on the handling of diisocyanates requires, in addition to the training, appropriate proof that the training has been successfully completed.

In the interest of a safe industry, the FSK will initially conduct training courses for Germany, Switzerland and Austria and issue certificates of participation after verification of knowledge. The FSK‘s training system is adapted to the European requirements of the EU regulation and is conducted either as individual training or e-learning units, depending on the desired intensity.

After the training, the participants acquire a certificate confirming their participation and the content of the training, which can be presented in any audit as verification of knowledge of the company standards. The training courses are divided into three levels based on the intensity of the handling of diisocyanates by the individual user and the application. The training thus provides the basis for the
safe handling of diisocyanates.

How will training be provided?

  • online or in person

Who will be trained?
Persons using diisocyanates in the following
applications:

  • Handling of not completely dried products
    (e.g. freshly dried, still warm)
  • Foundry applications
  • Maintenance and repair work, for which access to equipment is required
  • Open handling of warm or hot formulations (› 45 °C)
  • Spraying in outdoor areas, with limited or exclusively natural ventilation (also in large industrial work halls)
and spraying with high energy (e.g. foam, elastomers)
  • Any other application where a similar exposure by skin contact and/or inhalation exists

What will be trained?

  • All contents of level 1 and 2
  • Any other certification required for the specific application
