Dr.-Ing. Kirokuro Hosoda was born on 02.01.1915 in Tokyo/Japan. He has been working in industry since completing his studies of chemistry at Waseda University. In 1961 he was awarded the degree of Dr.-Ing. by the Tokyo Institute of Technology. From 1970 he was head of the Central Research Laboratory of Furukawa Electric Co, Ltd, where, among other things, the field of low-density PS foam plastics is worked on under his direction. Hosoda has received several awards for his work in Japan.
