Dr. Hans Jünger, born on 20. 04. 1926 in Hamm/ Sieg, studied chemistry at the University of Bonn. After obtaining his doctorate in 1958, he joined Dynamit Nobel AG in Troisdorf in 1959. After a short period in the technical service at that time, he then worked for 20 years in the field of technical resins with a focus on phenolic resin foam plastics in the areas of application technology, development and sales.
The achievement of the award is that he conducted fundamental research on the chemistry of foamable phenolic resins and on the relationships between resin structure, cell structure and properties of phenolic resin foam plastics. The results of this work made it possible for the first time to achieve continuous industrial production and a wider application of phenolic resin foams.
