On 14 and 15 March 2023, the Lightness of PUR specialist group of the Foamed Plastics and Polyurethanes Association (FSK e.V.) will once again be holding a specialist conference at the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology, Pfinztal. Industry innovations and cutting-edge trends in lightweight construction with polyurethane will be presented.

Stuttgart, 22.11.2022 – For the fifth time, the Foamed Plastics and Polyurethanes Association is launching the Lightness of PUR Symposium and inviting industry professionals to the sought-after PUR event series. The symposium will take place on 15 March 2023 at the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology in Pfinztal. At the Get-Together on 14 March 2023, the FSK Lightness of PUR specialist group will finally meet in person again after a long break due to the pandemic, in order to cultivate professional exchange in a convivial atmosphere.
“One might have feared that interest or engagement in the group would dry up in the last two years. But we find that both the topic of lightweight construction with polyurethane and the work in the specialist group and the expectations of the specialist day continue unabated,” says Klaus Junginger. “In the past, the specialist days were always booked up quite quickly. Early registration is therefore always recommended. We keep the number of visitors limited because we always work together with an organiser – this time the Fraunhofer ICT. In the small groups, questions and comments from the participants can be best addressed during the tours and demonstrations.”

In any case, the Fraunhofer ICT offers an exciting environment for this event: currently, about 580 employees are researching and developing in the core competencies of chemical processes, energy systems, explosives technology, new drive systems, plastics technology and composite materials. The total area of the institute in Pfinztal is 210,000 m², of which more than 27,000 m² are used for laboratories, offices, pilot plants, workshops, test benches and infrastructure.
