Stuttgart, 14 March 2023 – The Fachverband Schaumkunststoffe und Polyurethane (Specialist Association Foamed Plastics and Polyurethanes (FSK e.V.)) has set itself the goal of promoting young talent in the industry and motivating them to submit new ideas, concepts and developments. To this end, the FSK announces an annual innovation award in the categories “Technology” and “Design and Creation” from the material areas of foam plastics and polyurethanes. This year, for the second time, an application with products and innovations related to materials is also to be submitted in the category “Sustainability”. Individuals and groups from universities and companies throughout Europe can apply until 30 June 2023. Submissions from young professionals and professionals or companies will be judged and awarded separately to ensure fair and proper judging and awards based on knowledge and experience. The evaluation is carried out by a jury of experts selected by the FSK. Criteria are the novelty and innovativeness of the submitted products and solutions, as well as their marketability and competitiveness. Application documents can be requested by e-mail from the FSK office or downloaded from its website. The awards ceremony will take place at the International FSK Specialist Conference Foamed Plastics and Polyurethanes on 22 November 2023, in Leverkusen at Covestro Deutschland AG. Winners in the young talent category can receive additional endowments of up to € 3,000 to establish their innovations on the market.

“The Innovation Award is one of many highlights of our major trade conference. The applicants surprise us again and again with unusual, but also forward-looking ideas and products. Against the background of energy-saving measures and resource conservation, developments such as last year’s sun-independent energy storage systems are outstanding innovations. But also art with materials and comfort objects, such as a soft bathtub were already among the award winners. We are already looking forward to strong and innovative applications in all categories,” says FSK Managing Director Klaus Junginger.
