From 08 to 10 November 2022, the FSK participated with its own stand at Foam Expo 2022 at Messe Stuttgart. The association is pleased with its participation at this year’s exhibition thanks to its size and diversity.

Stuttgart, 14.11.2022 – The Foamed Plastics and Polyurethanes Association (FSK) was once again represented with its own stand at Foam Expo Europe in Stuttgart this year. The international trade fair for the technical foam industry was held for the third time at the Stuttgart exhibition centre. The exhibition with its 180 manufacturers and suppliers from all areas of the supply chains attracted many trade visitors. Under the umbrella of Foam Expo 2022, all types of foams and raw materials for the production of foams and foam-related products were on display, including flexible foams, rigid and moulded foams with materials ranging from elastomers such as rubber and PVC to urethanes. Together with the parallel conference, it is the European industry’s definitive forum for innovation, knowledge sharing, technical insights and networking.
The association also used the continent’s largest technical foam event to make new contacts. In addition, the FSK Converter Group met during the fair. The meeting of the FSK’s youngest specialist group has already become a regular feature of the fair. Members of the network and the association also exhibited at the fair. For example, the machine manufacturer Bäumer presented its state-of-the-art Contour V knives. For visitors from the automotive industry, Sekisui Alveo presented its translucent foams. Also present were Alfa Klebstoffe AG, Bosig GmbH, Cardolite Specialty Chemicals Europe NV, Everad Klebstoffe SAS, Fecken-Kirfel GmbH & Co KG, Georg Luh GmbH, Masterfoam BV, Mayser GmbH & Co KG, Neveon Holding GmbH, NMC sa, Recticel Engeneered Foams, Sitola GmbH & Co KG.
Foam Expo visitors were also able to attend the free conference, which focused on the most important trends and challenges in the fields of technical foam, adhesives and bonding in Europe and worldwide. This year’s topics focused on supply chain disruption, product traceability and risk mitigation. On the main stage, industry megatrends and environmental sustainability, material properties and application development, logistics and production efficiency were on the agenda. Speakers on the 360 stage reported on topics around material development and selection as well as regulation and additives.
“This autumn has been a busy one, with the K Fair in October and Foam Expo in November, we are already busy as an association. But the fairs are always enriching and an incomparable opportunity to have valuable discussions and make important contacts with a broad audience and numerous companies. Therefore, we naturally do not miss the opportunity to be present with a stand at both important fairs. Just in time for Foam Expo, the new edition of our association magazine, FSK Aktuell, was published, which visitors were happy to take with them. Another important point for us at the fair was the communication of the expiry of the statutory training period in 2023. Not everyone is yet aware of their own obligation to train in the safe handling of diisocyanates. The FSK advises companies on this and implements the legally required training. At the trade fair, companies were able to obtain information directly and personally,” says Klaus Junginger, Managing Director of the FSK.
