Dr. med. Wolfgang Leiner was born on 27. 12. 1925 in Berlin and took his school leaving examination at the Oberrealgymnasium in Berlin-Weissensee. He completed his medical studies at the Free University of Berlin as Dr. med. and emigrated to Australia in 1951. Due to non-recognition of his academic degree he worked there as a building contractor. Leiner had been working with foam plastics since 1970 and introduced UF foam plastics to Australia and the South Pacific region. He holds 5 patents in this field, wrote several technical papers and gave numerous lectures at national and international congresses.
This testimoial of honour is bestowed in recognition of his achievement in pioneering and introducing Urea Formaldehyde foam to Australia thereby creating a new industry.
