Annual meeting of the General Association of the Plastics Processing Industry in Bad Homburg

Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Georg Klepek was born on 9. 03. 1924 in Königshütte. He first completed his school education in 1939 in Beuthen with the secondary school leaving certificate (Mittlere Reife) to start an apprenticeship, which he completed in 1942 with the skilled worker examination as a thin sheet metal worker at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Ulm. After returning from the war in 1945, he continued his school education and passed the school leaving examination in Heilbronn in 1946. Afterwards he attended the State Engineering School in Eßlingen, which he left in 1949 as Ing. (grad.) Feinmechanik. After various activities in several companies, he joined Agfa-Gevaert AG, Camera-Werk, Munich, in 1961. As an engineer for work organisation and production technology, he was involved in the development of the fundamentals of thermoplastic and PUR-RIM processing from 1968 onwards. As a production engineer, he was appointed production manager for PUR-RIM parts at the Agfa plant in Weilheim. Klepek has been a publicly appointed and sworn expert for the application and processing of plastics (PUR-RIM) since 1981 and an independent consultant for the plastics industry since 1984.

The achievement of the award-winner is that he created basic parameters for the processing of thermoplastics and PUR-RIM.
